Djime Sissoko is from a family of musicians. His uncle is the well known multi-instrumentalist Baba Sissoko and Djime plays on 3 of his uncle's albums. Djime alos has his own band "Djama Djigui" (Hope of the people), a ngoni orchestra with female singer Aïchata and percussion. Additionally, Djime Sissoko is a regular member of Samba Toure's group.
