“Mangala was born in Kenieba in the Kayes region. His long career started at only eleven years of age when Mangala joined l’orchestre regional de Kayes. For his beautiful voice and good sense of humour, Mangala was a much loved artist who made people happy. Mangala played with many other artists, recorded several albums and his interpretation of the famous song Mali Sadio is regarded a masterpiece.
It’s now almost five years since Mamoutou Mangala Camara left us. I still cry.”
